Statement by David Owen, attorney for Debra Opri:

In response to media and other inquiries, David Owen, attorney for Debra Opri, stated,  “We appreciate Judge Charles C. Lee's statement in court today that he would reconsider his tentative ruling denying Debra Opri's request to take her legal dispute with Mr. Birkhead to arbitration.  Contrary to some media reports, the court also agreed that the money in dispute is adequately protected in a client trust fund account. The court ordered that the funds continue to remain frozen, a point Ms. Opri has never contested.
